Metropolitan Wilderness
Out in the wild
Where wily wolves wait
She walks alone
Glittering stars above
Her heels echoed with a hollow sorrow, bouncing off cold brick walls with longing, sound waves bleeding down the empty streets, a call of loneliness to anyone willing to hear the noise.
In the fields of fall
Where forward foxes frolic
She feels eyes
Following from shadows
Her mind created noise in the otherwise silent surroundings, distracting from the obvious possible danger, catastrophic thoughts pushed and fought for attention, craving to be noticed.
In the desolate city
Where devious demons dwell
She realizes truth
Swarming all around
Her life was a world ablaze running out of fuel to feed on, a light bulb flickering on faulty wiring, Morse code messages hidden all around, subtle hints spelling out a cry for help.
